A historical core business of GROUPE IDEC, Engineering forms the foundation of an integrated and differentiated model capable of supporting clients across the entire value chain of their projects. Now structured around two centers of expertise—Industry and Logistics & Activities—the Engineering Division reinforces its central role in the Group’s transformation into a fully-fledged service company.
ENGINEERING, GROUPE IDEC’S HISTORICAL CORE BUSINESS
Since its creation in 2000, GROUPE IDEC has grown around its historical core business, Engineering, which brings together seven subsidiaries: IDEC, IDEC GRAND SUD, DB, IDEC SANTÉ, IDEC AGRO, CECIA, and IDEC HAUTES TECHNOLOGIES.
“To meet changing market demands—towards increasingly technical, innovative, and low-carbon projects—we are evolving our Engineering business into two high value-added centers of expertise,” explains Patrice LAFARGUE, Chairman and Founder of GROUPE IDEC.
“Combined with the Group’s other business lines—planning, development, investment, and energy—we offer a unique model focused on advisory services, positioning ourselves as a true service company for our clients.”
A SHIFT TO ADDRESS INDUSTRIAL AND LOGISTICS CHALLENGES
In a constantly evolving world, reindustrialisation, sovereignty, ecological transition, and the rise of data are all key challenges shaping the real estate sector.
“Integrating innovation and process engineering into our industrial projects, as well as promoting brownfield redevelopment and verticality in logistics operations, are real market expectations. We address them with over 400 highly skilled experts,” explains Tony MORAIS, Partner of GROUPE IDEC and Managing Director of the Engineering Division.
With this evolution, GROUPE IDEC is also strengthening its capacity to deliver major industrial projects, including gigafactories.
VERKOR in Dunkirk (France) is a prime example, with the delivery of all cleanroom facilities for a Made-in-France electric vehicle battery gigafactory.
DESIGNING, BUILDING, AND RENOVATING IN FRANCE AND INTERNATIONALLY
With this new structure, GROUPE IDEC aligns with the evolution of industrial and logistics real estate while remaining true to its fundamentals. New builds, extensions, refurbishments, compliance upgrades, and brownfield redevelopment: its teams leverage a strong territorial presence with a network of 12 offices in France and eight locations across Europe and Asia to support clients as closely as possible to their projects.
EMBRACING A BROADER VISION BEYOND CONSTRUCTION
“We place particular importance on our advisory role,” explains Tony MORAIS.
“Site strategy, identification of redeveloped land, turnkey design and construction integrating process engineering and maintenance, investment strategy and financial engineering, and the integration of low-carbon energy solutions: we internalise all these capabilities to deliver projects that meet our clients’ economic, regulatory, industrial, and environmental challenges.”
INDUSTRIAL DIVISION: STRUCTURING, INNOVATING, AND SECURING THE PROJECTS OF TOMORROW
“Our in-house experts fully understand the technical specificities that drive our clients’ industrial activities,” explains Cédric de WAVRECHIN, who leads the Industrial Division.
“Whether in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agri-food, or high-tech, we can intervene at a very early stage—from advisory phases including capacity studies and industrial master planning, through design and construction, to process integration, qualification monitoring, and maintenance. This comprehensive approach is what makes us unique.”
With this evolution, GROUPE IDEC is also structuring and strengthening its capabilities to deliver large-scale industrial projects, particularly gigafactories.
LOGISTICS & ACTIVITIES DIVISION: DRIVING A REINVENTED LOGISTICS MODEL
“Alongside our recognized expertise in traditional logistics projects, we have in recent years focused on developments that are transforming the sector,” explains Pascal GOMES, Director of the Logistics & Activities Division.
“Verticality, high-rise facilities, automation—these are how we address the sustainability and performance challenges faced by logistics players. We also pay particular attention to brownfield redevelopment and the expansion or refurbishment of existing sites.”
