THE LAUNCH OF FLUDIS, A PROJECT SUPPORTED BY THE IDEC GROUP

23 September 2019
The AMME company launched the FLUDIS project, a new low carbon urban logistics system, in Paris on Saturday 21st September. The IDEC GROUP, which supports this project attended the event, in particular with the presence of the skipper Francis JOYON, the patron of honour for this first 100% electrical logistics boat.

The first FLUDIS logistics boat launched

The first low carbon warehouse-boat was launched on Saturday 21st September in the presence of her godfather, Francis JOYON. She represents the future of last mile delivery. This first 100% electric boat, which is due to start working from today for three clients (LYRECO, IKEA, PAPREC) will sail up and down the Seine to transport goods to various ports in the heart of Paris without generating any carbon emissions. The goods will then be delivered by electric bicycles. FLUDIS has calculated that each warehouse barge will be capable of dealing with 750,000 parcels per year, which would mean cutting the distance which would normally be covered by traditional vehicles by almost 200,000 miles each year.

The IDEC GROUP committed to sustainable development

The IDEC GROUP believes in the new urban logistics project developed by FLUDIS. The sustainable, low-carbon approach, which fits in with urban transport rules, matches the values supported by the IDEC GROUP when working with its clients. Proposing innovative, pragmatic and eco-friendly solutions, both companies naturally came together around these shared values.

Complementary services for the logistics sector

By supporting FLUDIS, the IDEC GROUP has confirmed its desire to offer its clients a complementary service to match their business requirements. With so many major logistics partners involved, FLUDIS stresses the desire of the IDEC GROUP with all its subsidiaries to offer an all-round solution to clients. Planning, development, investment, design and construction, maintenance, associated services, such as working with firms abroad and finding last mile delivery solutions with FLUDIS are among the made to measure and personalised services on offer.

The IDEC GROUP, running major projects

The support offered to FLUDIS in the development of their low-carbon urban logistics solution is an illustration of one of the many facets of the work done by the IDEC GROUP. Via its subsidiary, the IDEC INVEST GROUP, which specialises in investing in business premises, the firm works alongside its clients to carry out their innovative property projects. Thanks to their skills in backing projects, the IDEC INVEST GROUP finances, builds and manages the property that is developed. So far, the firm has 100,000 m² of property rented out across France.
