IDEC SPORT INVESTING IN BLOIS FOOT 41

12 July 2019
IDEC SPORT is continuing its adventure with the Blois football team. In order to help the club develop, the IDEC GROUP is stepping up its financial and personal investment with the arrival of Michel MOULIN on the board of the Blois Football 41.

The story continues between the IDEC GROUP and Blois Football 41 (BF41). IDEC SPORT remains the name on the red and gold club’s shirts, but that is not all, as Michel MOULIN has joined the board of the club to assist Blois with their latest ambitions. The IDEC GROUP advisor will offer his wealth of experience of the world of football, and this will be a major asset next season. In the past, he worked with PSG, Red Star and FC Istres, who were promoted to the first division at that point. The idea is simple. They want to develop the Blois team with the necessary financial means and a personal approach. IDEC SPORT is looking for changes and hope the club will soon become fully professional.

“In 2019/2020, we plan to change the club’s status to become a sports company (SASP in French law). My main goal will be to help the club. We want to offer personal and financial assistance, bringing along tools to enable Blois Foot 41 to move up and aim for the pro league in the coming years. But that is going to take some time, and we are going to have to remain humble meanwhile,” explained Michel MOULIN.

For Patrice LAFARGUE, President of the IDEC GROUP and IDEC SPORT, this continued investment in Blois Foot 41 was a logical step corresponding to IDEC SPORT’s values: “Blois has always been important for me. We have a lot in common with the team and they represent our vision of sport. We love competition and fixing targets. The aim is to get a good result without necessary having the biggest budget. We are investing a reasonable amount in a team that we want to see progress and get up there with the big clubs. The IDEC GROUP is attached to this townwhere we have our historic headquarters.”

The renewal of this contract was a key moment for François JACOB, the president, who founded the club twenty years ago: “When you compete in National 2 and you have high ambitions, it is all down to the support that people like IDEC SPORT can offer us. We have just finished sixth in our championship and we can do better. I’d like to thank Patrice LAFARGUE for his loyal support. I think that it’s great that IDEC SPORT wants to invest even more in us. That means we must be doing something right.”

While François JACOB will remain president of BF41, Michel MOULIN will become sporting advisor in order to offer his winning experience, as IDEC SPORT has tried to do in various fields over the past twenty years. “This club is very interesting. There are some great foundations, which have been built upon over the past few years. In four years they have been promoted three times. There’s work to be done,” concluded Michel MOULIN.

The new SASP status should be up and running by 1st July 2020. They goal is very clear: to get Blois into League 2.

About the IDEC GROUP:

Founded in 2000 by Patrice LAFARGUE, the IDEC GROUP is one of the rare players in the market to be present in all the different fields (planning, development, design and construction) and in all sorts of building work (residential, industrial, logistics, business premises, offices, commercial property, interior design…). Well developed in France, the IDEC GROUP has stepped up its development abroad over the past three years, particularly in the UK, Europe and Asia.

The IDEC SPORT unit was created in 2015 with the aim of bringing together all the sporting partnerships in the group, although they have been important for the firm for many years in sailing with the partnership with Francis JOYON. The current IDEC Sport maxi-trimaran is the holder of the Jules Verne Trophy (crewed round the world record in 2017 with a time of 40 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes) and Francis JOYON recently won the 2019 solo Route du Rhum (St-Malo – Pointe-à-Pitre) with a time of 7 days 14 hours and 21 minutes. The second major sport is motor racing. Patrice LAFARGUE’s team competes in the LMP2 category in the European endurance championship with two cars. The team has just finished racing in its third Le Mans 24-Hour Race, finishing in fifth place. But IDEC SPORT also involves team sports with partners in several areas – in Rugby in the Top 14 with Aviron Bayonnais and in basketball with the Lyon ASVEL’s women’s team.

For several months now, IDEC SPORT has been represented by the disabled athlete, Marie-Amélie LE FUR. Four times world athletics champion and twice paralympic champion, the 30 year old sportswoman continues to add to her list of achievements. In 2019, she became the IDEC GROUP’s ambassador for sport and health.

The IDEC GROUP’s latest project in 2019 was the launch of 9 Prom, a new development company in association with the basketball star Tony Parker.
